Aloha!Margarita "Dayday" Hopkins has been a resident of Hilo for 26 years. She settled here with her husband Kevin (a UH-Hilo professor) after working in agriculture and community development programs overseas. They have three children: Leyson, Shanon and Alyxandra. She con­ tinued helping people during her 24 years of service in the County's Department of Research and Development.
